Frozen Shoulder:

When there is pain, stiffness and loss of motion in your shoulder, it is referred to as frozen shoulder. Pain begins slowly until you cannot move your shoulder at all.

Causes:

  • People who suffer from diabetes, thyroid disorders, heart disease and Parkinson's disease mostly suffer from frozen shoulder
  • It results from inflammation, thickening and shrinking of the capsule,  which surrounds the normal shoulder joint
  • Injury like tendinitis, bursitis can also lead to frozen shoulder
  • Long-term immobility of the shoulder is also one of the causes

Symptoms:

  • Stiffness around shoulder
  • Inability to raise arm
  • Limited shoulder mobility
  • Radiating pain down the arm, usually a dull aching pain}
  • Difficulty in activities such as brushing hair, putting on clothes
  • Pain when trying to sleep on the affected shoulder
